About me

I am a Relate-trained relationship counsellor. I worked for Relate (Avon) for many years before setting up my own private practice in Clifton, Bristol where I work with couples, siblings and also with individuals where there is a relationship focus.

My previous career was in education and training. I taught English as a foreign language (TEFL) for many years to adult students in Cairo, Paris and London. After that, I became a TEFL teacher-trainer and textbook writer.

I was a Samaritans volunteer for 6 years in North London. I also ran training and development sessions and courses for Samaritans volunteers.

I have always been drawn to working with people in ways that depend on understanding and empathy. That, coupled with a fascination for understanding the dynamics of relationships, has drawn me naturally towards the work I have been involved with and my role now as a relationship counsellor.

I am a registered member of the BACP (British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy) and abide by their Ethical Framework.
